A Special Message From The Director!
Dear Future University Kids’ Scholars and Guardians,
Thank you for taking the time to visit the site and learn more about our campus. It has been a long rewarding journey bringing University Kids to fruition. I began my educational career as a collegiate AmeriCorps member and substitute teacher while attending The University of Texas at Austin (Hook’em)! I received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a minor in Mexican American Studies. Shortly after college I worked as a Lead Teacher at a local daycare while attaining my teacher certification and was hired immediately to be an ESL Kindergarten teacher. I served in that position for seven year and while doing so received my Masters in Education Administration from Abilene Christian University. I became a Reading and Writing Literacy Specialist while working for Austin I.S.D. and found my way to the Dallas area to serve as an Assistant Principal. I returned to school for a Superintendent certification and began to reflect on my career path. While serving in education, I worked with hundreds of students lacking essential basic reading and mathematical skills and struggled with understanding school norms and behaviors. From those interactions University Kids was born, in order to address much needed early childhood learning needs and expectations. Today, I have brought forth a quality childcare service that parents can feel as if they are truly INVESTING in their child’s future while at the same time knowing that their child is safely being cared for. With my years serving as a classroom, instructional, and administrative leader, I assure you that your scholar is in good hands and will thrive at University Kids.
Yours In Quality Education,
Ms. Scott, M.A., Education
